‘Before they disappear’
A bowl of fruit is similar to life itself, with each piece of fruit offering itself to us to sample experiences in life before the chances disappear. Some things will be bitter and some will be sweet. Memories of bitter experiences will fade and disappear like the rotting fruit. Sweet experiences grow and multiply as you share those thoughts with others. Just like the good fruit tree producing a crop year after year.
The fruit also represents time span, as a bowl of fruit is like life itself it is not constant. You place the bowl of fruit on the table and admire in its full glory. As time goes on the fruit is taken and when it is, the other pieces move or fall into another position. As each piece of fruit is taken away it becomes a faded memory. As time goes on the bowl becomes empty except for perhaps some forgotten rotting fruit, which is then dispensed with. The bowl is washed out and filled up again with fresh fruit. Such is life with time and fragility. |
